Glass Health Raises Investment from Breyer Capital and Y Combinator for a New Generation of Clinical Software

In 2021, we founded Glass Health with the mission of empowering clinicians with a new generation of frictionless software for learning and practicing medicine. We built Glass, an AI-powered medical knowledge management and clinical decision-making platform that helps clinicians provide better patient care.

We’ve been humbled by the evangelism and adoption of the Glass platform since its launch in March 2022. Today, we’re proud to announce that in late 2022 we raised our first round of investments from Breyer Capital and Y Combinator, which will accelerate progress toward our mission.

Breyer Capital was founded by Jim Breyer, who led the Series A investment in Facebook. A passionate and tenured investor across technology sectors with a specific focus on healthcare and life sciences, Jim was an early believer in our vision for Glass Health. As we’ve grown these past few months, he’s also been a supportive partner to Glass alongside Ted Breyer, Daniel Breyer, and the entire Breyer Capital team.

Founded in 2005, Y Combinator is a startup accelerator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Y Combinator has made first or early investments in the most successful new companies of the past two decades, including Airbnb, Reddit, Instacart, Benchling, Stripe, Twitch, DoorDash, and DropBox.

We’re immensely grateful to our community of clinician users for their ongoing support of our mission. Their support allowed us to raise this funding, which will enable us to accelerate the pace at which we deliver innovative tools that facilitate patient care. In the coming months, we will bring advanced technologies, notably generative AI, to clinical tools for knowledge management, clinical decision-making, and team collaboration.

We sincerely thank our friends and advisers who have mentored us through this process thus far as well as our loved ones who have encouraged and supported us.

If you’re interested in working with us and have a background in medicine, engineering, or other relevant disciplines, we’d love to hear from you. If you are a medical school, residency program, department, or hospital and would like to make Glass available to your clinicians, please contact us at notebook@glass.health.

Most importantly, if you’re interested in trying Glass for yourself, visit glass.health in any browser and glass.health/ai to try the experimental version of our clinical AI feature.

Cheers,

Dereck Paul, MD & Graham Ramsey
